Accountant
The Role
We are looking for a fully qualified Company Accountant to take full ownership of the finance function and advise leadership team.
This role will suit someone who is highly competent working independently, brings strong structure and common sense to how finances are run, and is equally comfortable with compliance and financial analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting.
Beyond monthly accounts, you will play a central role in:
Understanding and improving EBITDA
Analysing profitability by service line and product
Building forecasting and cashflow models
Providing clear commercial insight to support decision-making
This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements. You must be based in Ireland and hold a valid driver’s licence. The team meets in person monthly for training and co-working sessions..
Roles and Responsibilities
Core Finance Operations
Manage the full finance function of the business
Prepare employee wages, bonuses, and manage payroll (BrightPay)
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable and manage bank accounts
Liaise with Revenue, external accountants, and internal teams
Reporting & Controls
Generate monthly financial statements (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet)
Prepare board-ready financial packs and commentary
Improve and document finance systems and processes as the company scales
Commercial Analysis & Insight (Key Focus)
Analyse EBITDA, gross margin, and net margin trends
Track profitability by service line, product, and customer type
Build and maintain financial models and forecasts (revenue, costs, cashflow)
Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives
Provide clear, practical financial insights to support strategic and operational decisions
Requirements
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
3+ years’ post-qualified experience, ideally within a startup environment
Strong experience with VAT, RCT, and payroll
Proven experience producing management accounts and financial analysis
Commercially minded with a strong understanding of EBITDA and margin drivers
Excellent attention to detail and a hands-on, proactive working style
Comfortable working independently across a broad range of finance tasks
Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial information in plain English
Experience using Xero accounting software
