Energy Audits for Hotels in Ireland

If your hotel has not had an energy audit carried out already, it is essential to do so, specifically in this climate. Without a clear understanding of how energy is being used across heating, lighting, hot water, kitchens, laundry, and other day to day operations, unnecessary costs can build up quickly. An energy audit helps hotels in Ireland identify where energy is being wasted, where efficiency can be improved, and what practical steps can be taken to reduce spend without affecting guest experience.

Grants available for Audits

Hotels in Ireland do not have to take on the full cost of an energy audit alone. Support is available through SEAI’s Support Scheme for Energy Audits, which offers eligible SMEs a €2,000 voucher toward the cost of a professional audit and, in most cases, this covers the full cost. Smaller businesses can also look at the Green for Business support through their Local Enterprise Office, which provides expert guidance and a tailored action plan to help identify energy saving opportunities. For hotels that have not yet reviewed their energy use, these supports make it much easier to get clarity on where costs are rising and what practical steps can be taken to reduce them
